Cheto and the Beanpole
An original story stolen from a classic story. This is Cheto's take on Jack and the Beanstalk. In this modern retelling, Cheto sells his mothers clock that looks like a cow to Ernie the fence for five Mexican jumping beans. He was supposed to sell them for money to buy Menudo. Cheto learns that God has not given us a spirit of fear as he meets the kindly giant at the top of the tree that sprung up after the beans jumped out of his hands. Michelle Paulson makes her debut as the voice of reason.

Kids Camp Rules
I am finally able to upload videos again. For some reason, this blog did not like the Camp Drama videos. They had several special effects, which probably made them too large. This is a video of the Camp Rules made by Emma, Katie, and Michelle.
VBS 2009
Another Christian Chapel VBS completed. It was the hottest VBS I can remember, with temperatures near or over 100 degrees everyday, and heat indexes well above 100 Monday through Friday.
We had fun. We tie-dyed shirts, were hosed down by a fire truck, sang songs and had a robot go insane. It was a pretty typical VBS. Here is a highlight video of the fun. Thank you to all the volunteers who poured out their hearts, and literally, their sweat this week to tell kids about Jesus. I appreciate you all.

Living in America
Last summer, were were given the greatest gift over, our Mac computer. With too many creative ideas and new toys for our own good, we began to put some of the crazy things we would do in Kids Church onto video. Hopefully, our production values have improved, but our creativity has probably not. In this first ever Chapel Kids video production, Angus shows his disdain for America and knock knock jokes. The beloved VBS robot Circ It became the object of Angus's rage, and turned up missing. He was returned in the next episode without explanation. Later versions actually have a Christian message, but this was just us having fun.

Kids Camp Day One
It is morning, day 2. The kids are still asleep, so this is the calm before the storm. Day one was fairly uneventful. The water park was fun. It was not crowded at all, and the kids were able to ride water slides without waiting in line for very long. It was kind of cold. We have some minor sunburns.
Our first service went well. The worship team led by Katie and Michelle was fantastic, again. We had a combined service last night, since we arrived later in the day. Today, we will have two separate services, one for the Elementary Kids and one for the 5th and 6th graders.
It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. It is actually a little cool this morning, a slight wind off the lake.
Here are a few pictures. Check back later for video.

Kid's Camp Video Trailer
Sarchette of Sardenia was a made man. As a part of the RIGATAONI family, he was one of the most feared men in Rome. Then one day, on the road to Damascus, he saw a bright light, and was made an offer he could not refuse. It was such a great transformation that he was no longer Sarchette of Sardenia, but Gesu changed his name to Pesto Punteletti. He left the family. Don Linguini, leader of the RIGATAONI family, was not happy, and sent a message: Pesto Punteletti sleeps with the fishes.
With a death sentence over his head, Pesto was confined to pizzeria where he was guarded by Bruschetta Canoli. Undeterred, as he still wrote letters from his confinement to his family in Rome.
This summer, follow the story of Pesto Punteletti, a story of hope, and a story of redemption. Told through the eyes of world famous Italian Filmmaker Denaccio Bolagnes, La Famiglia is an epic tale. This film is not yet rated.

Another Look Back on the Summer of 2008
2008 saw the very first Day that never ends. 65 parents and children loaded up on our charter bus in the sweltering heat and spend five hours at the water park. We returned home for a movie, spaghetti dinner and Royal Rangers and Missionettes. We capped the night off with a trip to Chuck E Cheese, then a campout in the heat and humidity, and of course the pancake breakfast. What a long day-a day that never ends. Here is the original promo starring-who else-Angus.
The Trilogy Finale
In the trilogies finale, the winner of the World Freestyle Dance Championship in America's garden spot, Hoboken, New Jersey, is finally revealed. The contestants do an interpretive dance to a Christian classic, and learn something about themselves. The final installment in the trilogy, all of the loose ends are tied up in a satisfying conclusion.
A Look back at last years camp part deux
Day two is widely considered by critics and experts to be the greatest film in the trilogy. It had everything, suspense, revenge, even a cameo appearance by a beloved figure. In the end, the villains got their just desserts.
A look back at last years camp
Last years kids camp brought us some unforgettable memories. As the bus pulled away, we had at least ten kids that were supposed to be in school. It was cold. The river had swollen to unprecedented kids camp levels. We left on a Thursday. With all of that to look back upon, who could ever forgot the most ridiculous thing we ever saw- Feng Sweat, Ivan, Angus and of course Punjab participating in the World Freestyle Dancing Championships! Get holy or die trying, bring it all. Here is the first installment.
